Ingredients

For the Cream Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese Ensure it is at room temperature for a lump-free filling.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Keeps the filling smooth.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for the best aroma.
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Must be cold to whip effectively.

For the Layers

  • 1 box graham crackers Use plain, honey, or cinnamon flavor.
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries Look for firm, bright red berries.

Instructions

Prepare the Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until perfectly smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to create a light filling.

Prep the Strawberries

  • Wash, hull, and thinly slice the strawberries.

Build the Layers

  • Spread a thin layer of the cream mixture on the bottom of your dish.
  • Lay down a single layer of graham crackers.
  • Spread a portion of the cream mixture over the graham crackers.
  • Arrange a layer of sliced strawberries on top of the cream.
  • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, usually 3 to 4 layers deep.

The 'Icebox' Chill

Notes

Avoid over-whipping the cream cheese mixture. Garnish with fresh berries or powdered sugar just before serving. Use a hot, dry knife for clean slices.
