Strawberry Cream Puffs

Ingredients
  

For the pastry

  • 400 g Puff pastry Use chilled pastry for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon White cocoa syrup @saveur_cestdelicieux
  • 2 tablespoons Icing sugar For dusting
  • Melted chocolate Melted chocolate for drizzling

For the filling

  • 100 g Fresh Strawberries Fresh and ripe for best flavor.
  • 100 ml Whipping cream Sweetened with icing sugar.
  • 8 teaspoons Strawberry jam

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven.
  • Cut hearts out from the puff pastry or cut rectangles. If cutting rectangles, use only half the puff pastry. If cutting hearts, use the full 400g pastry.
  • Brush the top of the pastry with egg wash.

Baking

  • Bake until golden brown.
  • Slice the hearts open.

Filling

  • Spoon 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam inside each puff.
  • Fill with sweetened whipping cream mixed with white cocoa syrup by piping it in.
  • Add freshly sliced strawberries on top.
  • Close the top pastry on each puff.

Serving

  • Dust with icing sugar and drizzle with melted chocolate.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge; best enjoyed fresh. Unfilled pastries can be stored separately and filled right before serving.
