Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup crushed golden sandwich cookies (for topping, optional) optional topping
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry and gently roll it out to slightly enlarge.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface.
  • Spread a thin layer of strawberry jam over the cream cheese, then sprinkle the chopped strawberries on top.
  • Starting from one edge, roll the pastry tightly into a log. Slice into 6–8 even rolls.
  • Place the rolls flat on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with egg wash.

Baking

  • Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  • Once out of the oven, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with crushed cookies for a shortcake-style topping, if desired.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled as a dessert or sweet snack.

Notes

These rolls can be served warm for a gooey filling or chilled for a firmer texture. Pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
