Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 stick softened butter Make sure it is softened.
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A splash for extra flavor.

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 dash salt

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to adjust the amount.
  • optional nuts Add if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • In one bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until glossy.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.

Baking

  • Scoop the mixture onto a baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
  • Enjoy the classic cookie smell as they bake!

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, pair with cold milk, or stack with fudge for cookie sandwiches. Dough can be frozen for fresh baking anytime.
