Ingredients

Yellow Velvet Cake Base

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • Yellow food coloring (as needed) For desired color

Oreo Cheesecake Filling

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.75 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 15 pieces Oreo cookies, crushed

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream For decoration
  • Crushed Oreos For decoration
  • White chocolate drizzle For decoration

Instructions

Prepare the Yellow Velvet Cake Base

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until fully combined.
  • Slowly mix in the buttermilk and yellow food coloring until the batter is smooth and evenly colored. Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, taking care not to overmix.
  • Pour the batter into a lined springform pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cake is set. Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool completely before assembling the cheesecake layer.

Make the Oreo Cheesecake Filling

  • In a clean bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  • Gradually add the heavy cream while beating, until the mixture becomes thick, creamy, and smooth. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies gently to maintain texture.

Assemble the Cheesecake

  • Once the cake base has completely cooled, spread the Oreo cheesecake filling evenly over the top. Smooth the surface with a spatula and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the cheesecake layer to fully set.

Decorate and Serve

  • Before serving, decorate the cheesecake with whipped cream, crushed Oreos, and a drizzle of white chocolate if desired. Slice carefully and serve chilled for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

Always let the cake base cool completely before adding the cheesecake layer. Refrigerating overnight gives the best texture and clean slices. Use a warm knife for neat and professional-looking cuts. Decorate just before serving for the freshest appearance.
