Ingredients
  

For the marinade

  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 6 pieces chicken thighs or breasts
  • Green onions for garnish Chopped, for serving

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
  • Marinate the chicken in the sauce mixture for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
  • Grill the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade until cooked through.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Ensure the grill is hot before cooking for better sear and grill marks. Keep some extra marinade aside, boil it briefly if using as a sauce.
